Install once. Every story scored automatically after that.
Vindex runs as a native Forge app inside Jira Cloud. It reads each story the moment it’s created or updated and puts plain-language findings in the Issue Panel — before refinement, before planning, before the sprint pays for the gap.
- Step 1
Install the Forge app
Find Vindex in the Atlassian Marketplace and click Install. You'll need Jira admin permissions — no configuration beyond that; the app registers your Jira instance on first use. Most teams are done in about two minutes.
See install requirements - Step 2
Vindex watches for changes
The app listens for issue create and update events. The moment a story is written or edited, Vindex reads the summary, description, and acceptance criteria — nobody has to remember to run a check.
- Step 3
Every story gets scored
The scoring engine reads the story the way a senior reviewer would and evaluates whether it's actually ready for development: clear scope, real acceptance criteria, sized for a sprint, free of hidden dependencies, testable, and clearly valuable.
- Step 4
Findings appear in the Issue Panel
Scores and plain-language findings render in a Vindex panel next to the ticket — where your team already works. The headline is always a finding anyone can act on, like "Acceptance criteria are missing or untestable." The per-dimension breakdown is one click deeper.
What it looks like on a real ticket.
A story is written, Vindex reads it, and the panel fills in — overall score, six quality dimensions, and the specific reasons the story isn’t ready yet.

Watching for changes
What Vindex never does in your Jira.
- Vindex never writes to Jira fields and never adds comments.
- Scores and recommendations are stored in Forge storage and shown in the Issue Panel only.
- Vindex does not train models on your customer data.
- Public CSV demo uploads are deleted automatically after 24 hours.
